Starbucks’ own Reserve site says its Roasteries serve drinks and food inspired by local culture, and the published menus show how far that goes. Tokyo gives a whole floor to tea and runs a bar list from ¥1,200 (~$7.64) to ¥3,600 (~$23) that mixes coffee with soba shochu, umeshu and stone-ground matcha. Milan puts olive oil in the coffee and sells a €12.00 (~$14) aperitivo list. Chicago and New York share one menu at two sets of prices: the same Espresso Martini is $16 in Chicago and $20 in New York. Taipei’s flagship, which the site never calls a Roastery, pours kaoliang and Taiwanese tea cocktails at NT$400-460 (~$13-$14). Korea has no Roastery on its site and runs two Reserve-only stores in Seoul instead. China, Hong Kong, Indonesia and the Philippines publish no Reserve menu prices. Starbucks says outright that Reserve isn’t the same menu everywhere. The FAQ on starbucksreserve.com tells you Roasteries offer drinks and food inspired by local culture, and gives Milan’s aperitivo cocktails and Tokyo’s Japanese brewing traditions as its examples. It adds that seasonal drinks vary by region.
This page goes market by market through what the official sites publish: which kinds of Reserve venue each country has, what’s on the menu that the site ties to that place, and what it costs where a price is printed. How much you get varies a lot. The US Roasteries, Milan, Tokyo and Taipei publish priced menus. Korea publishes product pages without prices and prints the prices inside notice images. China’s official Reserve pages carry no menu. Where a site is silent we say so, and we haven’t filled the gaps from blogs or delivery apps. We cover the nine markets whose official sites we read for Reserve; others have Reserve stores too (Starbucks Turkey’s company page counts 13).
Checked September 21, 2026. US prices come from the fall 2026 menu data behind starbucksreserve.com’s menu pages. That file prints $12.5 where we write $12.50. Milan’s come from four menu PDFs created on September 2, 2026, which print bare numbers in euros. Japan’s are tax-included prices for drinking in. Starbucks Japan announced on September 18 that core drinks, some core food and core beans go up from October 9, 2026, and the notice doesn’t say whether Reserve or Roastery items are included. Korea’s prices are printed in thousand-won shorthand on notices dated from April 2025 to June 2026; we’ve written them out in full, so 12,9 becomes ₩12,900 (~$9.30), and they may have changed since. Dollar figures in brackets are a loose conversion at the rate on the date above. Names are the official English where a site gives one. Where it doesn’t, the English is our translation and we say so.
What Reserve is, and the three kinds of place that sell it
The brand site defines Starbucks Reserve as a selection of the most extraordinary coffees Starbucks has, with a roast developed for each lot. Its locations page says every Reserve coffee was roasted at one of the Roasteries.
The top tier is the Roastery. The FAQ describes Roasteries as large flagship destinations with coffee roasting and mixology bars, and it lists five: Chicago, New York City, Milan, Shanghai and Tokyo. Seattle isn’t on that list and has no page on the site, though older stories still on the site call it the first Roastery, and one still counts six. Starbucks Japan’s site says five on one page and six on another. We’re going with the FAQ.
Below that come Reserve Bars and Reserve stores, which the FAQ describes as smaller places offering Reserve coffees and elevated brewing methods. The labels change by country. Japan has a Reserve Store, Reserve Bars and Reserve Cafes. Korea has Reserve R stores and two that run as Reserve only. China has Bar Mixato stores and a Bakery Cafe. Taiwan calls one store a flagship.
The third tier is a regular Starbucks that handles Reserve coffee. Japan’s store locator has a filter for stores that handle Reserve, and it returned 66 on September 21, 2026, from the Roastery down to ordinary shops brewing Reserve beans. China’s Reserve page says the beans are sold in limited quantity at designated stores, and Indonesia’s says select stores for limited times. The brand site’s FAQ says Reserve whole beans and merchandise are only sold at Reserve locations. Japan’s own menu data shows something different: nine Reserve beans are also sold through the online store.
United States: two Roasteries, one menu, two sets of prices
Chicago and New York are the two US Roasteries on the official list. The Chicago page says it opened in November 2019 on the Magnificent Mile and calls it the world’s largest Starbucks; the events page gives five stories, 35,000 square feet and a 56-foot steel cask. New York opened in December 2018 in the Meatpacking District at nearly 23,000 square feet. Chicago publishes four bar menus, one per floor, and New York three. The site says Chicago’s Arriviamo cocktail menu was designed with Julia Momose, Annie Beebe-Tron and Rachel Miller.
Both cities’ menus are drawn from one data file, so the items and descriptions match line for line. The prices don’t. New York is dearer on almost every drink: the Starbucks Reserve Espresso Martini is $16 in Chicago and $20 in New York, a Latte is $6.50-7.50 against $7.00-8.00, and the Espresso Martini Flight is $25 against $30. Food is mostly priced the same in both cities. The croissants and the kouign-amann are the exceptions in the data we read.
What each Roastery keeps to itself is a coffee. The menus badge the Chicago Roastery Microblend and the New York Roastery Microblend as Local Exclusive, and each coffee page says the blend is sold only at its own Roastery. Where you can order things differs too. In Chicago the coffee flights, the gelato drinks and pour-over are only on the 3rd Floor Experience Coffee Bar menu, while New York’s Main Bar also lists two of the flights and the gelato drinks.
The Empire State Building Reserve store isn’t a Roastery, but it shares the same menu data. It has a microblend of its own, which the site says is roasted right there, and the only happy hour in the file: $2 off all beer and wine and select cocktails at the Coffee & Cocktail Lounge, Monday to Thursday, 4-6 PM. The site publishes calories for drinks and none for food or cocktails, and its FAQ says Mobile Order & Pay isn’t available at US Roasteries. For the everyday menu, see Starbucks US.

Italy: Milan’s Roastery, olive oil coffee and an aperitivo list
Italy’s Roastery is the Starbucks Reserve Roastery Milano on Piazza Cordusio, opened in September 2018 in the Palazzo delle Poste building, which the Roastery’s site says Luigi Broggi designed in 1901 to house the Milan Stock Exchange. Starbucks Italy’s history page calls it the first Reserve Roastery in Europe. It has four serving areas (Terrace, Main Bar, Arriviamo Bar and Princi Bar), and the menus exist only as PDFs on roastery.starbucks.it.
Three things set those menus apart from the US ones. The first is Oleato, Reserve coffee with Partanna extra virgin olive oil, which turns up on all four menus: a latte with oat milk, a Golden Foam cold brew, an affogato with Maldon salt at €12.00 (~$14) and an espresso martini at €18.00 (~$21). The second is an Italian bar list at Italian sizes. A single espresso is €2.20 (~$2.52). There’s a Marocchino at €4.75 (~$5.45), a Caffè d’Orzo at €3.50 (~$4.02), a Gianduja Macchiato at €5.25 (~$6.03) and an Il Piemontese at €7.50 (~$8.61). The Shakerato is €5.50 (~$6.31) on the Main Bar PDF and €5.00 (~$5.74) on the Princi Bar & Terrace one, both live the same day. The third is the aperitivo section at the Arriviamo Bar, €12.00 (~$14) a drink, with a Starbucks Reserve Milano-Torino beside the Spritz and the two Negronis (the US menus have an Aperol Spritz and the Empire State Building store a Negroni, but no aperitivo list).
The Arriviamo menu also carries six signature cocktails credited to Andrea Villa, which the Roastery’s site says were created for it alone, from €12.00 (~$14) for the spirit-free Beyond the Star to €16.00 (~$18). Four of the six name the Milano Roastery Microblend or the Whiskey Barrel-Aged Cold Brew in their descriptions. The list also names regional ingredients such as Ratafià from Valle d’Aosta and bergamot oil from Calabria.
Local partners are printed on the menus: gelato made with Alberto Marchetti at €7.00 (~$8.03), and T’a Milano chocolates to go with a coffee at €2.00 (~$2.30). Only one item carries the words “exclusive to Milan”. It’s the Cold Craft Discovery Flight at €15.50 (~$18), three cold brews including an Arancia Rossa with blood orange. Reserve coffees are priced by a three-level rarity scale shown as bean icons, so a Short on the Clover is €6.25 (~$7.17), €8.75 (~$10) or €11.50 (~$13) depending on the coffee. Japan: four Reserve formats and a floor for tea
Japan runs Reserve in four formats. The Reserve hub on starbucks.co.jp presents Roastery Tokyo, one Reserve Store (Ginza Marronnier-dori, also branded STARBUCKS GINZA HOUSE) and Reserve Bars, of which the Bar page names five. The menu system and the store locator add a fourth format, the Reserve Cafe, with six stores in the locator.
Roastery Tokyo in Nakameguro is four floors, and each one sells something different. The first has the Main Bar with five brew methods and flights, a Princi bakery and a bean scoop bar. The second is a Teavana tea bar. The third is the Arriviamo cocktail bar, with a terrace over the Meguro River. The fourth holds the AMU Inspiration Lounge and the bean packaging line. The site credits Kengo Kuma with the exterior and says Tokyo was the first Roastery designed and built from scratch.
The tea floor is the part to know about. Uji matcha is ground on a stone mill in the store and goes into a cream soda at ¥1,300 (~$8.27), a tea latte at ¥1,200 (~$7.64) and an affogato at ¥1,300 (~$8.27). Upstairs, 26 bar drinks have product pages, from ¥1,200 (~$7.64) to ¥3,600 (~$23), and they lean on Japanese ingredients: Japanese whisky and umeshu in the New Tokyo Fashion, soba shochu and mirin in the Nakameguro Coffee & Tea Drip, a gin made with gyokuro and tencha in the matcha martini, and two cocktails built on Yoichi wines. Nine of the 26 are alcohol-free. In all, 88 product pages in the menu data are flagged as sold only at Roastery Tokyo.
Whiskey barrel-aged coffee is what Starbucks Japan’s autumn release calls a Roastery Tokyo signature. It’s poured as a Barrel-Aged Cold Brew at ¥1,500 (~$9.55), it’s in this autumn’s Barrel-Aged Pumpkin Spice Latte at ¥1,400 (~$8.91), and the beans are sold by weight at ¥2,100 (~$13) per 100 g.
Away from the Roastery, the Ginza Reserve Store has a drink its page says is found only there, the GINZA Double Tall Caramel Macchiato. The Reserve Cafe is a format Starbucks Japan’s press releases call a cafe bakery, with a design concept named “Milanese Kissaten”: Tall-only drinks made with beans roasted at Roastery Tokyo, brewed coffee from a Clover Vertica, and Princi cornetti from ¥380 (~$2.42) that you’re encouraged to dunk in your latte. The release for the Tokyo Skytree Town 30F branch calls it the highest Starbucks in Japan, at about 150 m.
Two gaps. Princi’s own Japanese site publishes no food prices, only an allergen PDF listing 170 items, so the Roastery’s Princi counter is unpriced online; the Reserve Cafe cornetti above are the exception. And Starbucks Japan gives most cocktails and beans a Japanese name only, so two English names below are ours. Roastery Tokyo’s hours change from 7:00-22:00 to 8:00-22:00 on October 1, 2026. China: the Shanghai Roastery, Bar Mixato and a site with no menu
China has a long official paper trail and no published Reserve menu. Starbucks China’s releases say the Shanghai Roastery opened in December 2017 as the first Roastery outside the US, at 2,700 square metres, with a two-storey copper cask carrying more than 1,000 Chinese seals and a 27 m bar the opening release called Starbucks’ longest. The same release says it housed the first Teavana bar in China and the Asia debut of Princi, and the company’s about page calls the Roastery its innovation lab.
Around it sit several Reserve formats. The history page dates the first Reserve Bar Mixato store, coffee and cocktails at Bund Origin in Shanghai, to 2019, and a flagship Bar Mixato opened inside the Roastery that October with 11 cocktails the release said were created for it. A Reserve Bakery Cafe with Princi baked in store opened in Shanghai in February 2019. The Beijing Fun flagship gives one floor each to Reserve coffee, Teavana and mixology. On September 21, 2026 the official store locator flagged 505 of its 8,263 stores as Reserve, across 64 cities, with Shanghai on 89. That’s our count of locator data. The site states no total.
Releases are also where the local coffees live. Starbucks China says it has put out one or two Reserve coffees from Yunnan every year since 2017, reaching a ninth year in 2025 with the first Yunnan yellow bourbon. The newest opening on the site is the Reserve store in the atrium of Xi’an SKP on June 26, 2026, which the release says serves a drink its staff created and named 永宁碧澜, Reserve espresso under matcha milk foam.
What you won’t find is a Reserve menu. The Reserve page has the brand story and three bean names in image folders dated 2019. The Roastery’s microsite still carries its 2017 launch content and lists no drinks, Princi menu or prices. So the two drinks below come from a March 2024 release, and we can’t tell you whether they’re still on. The regular chain’s price boards are on our Starbucks China page.

South Korea: no Roastery, two Reserve-only stores
Starbucks Korea’s site presents no Roastery. What it has is a store finder that returned 62 Reserve stores on September 21, 2026, 34 of them in Seoul, most with an R at the end of the store name. The Reserve stores page says Reserve R stores nationwide have a Starbucks Reserve Bar area. The Reserve coffee page lists six brew methods, among them the Oviso, which it describes as a new under-counter espresso machine that fills the cup from the bottom up.
The newer idea is the Reserve-only store. Starbucks Reserve Dosan opened in Seoul on April 29, 2025, billed as the first to run as Reserve only, for the 11th year of Reserve in Korea. Starbucks Reserve Gwanghwamun followed on August 28, 2025. Both take seat reservations for two to four people, 90 minutes at a time, with a ₩10,000 (~$7.21) deposit and a ₩50,000 (~$36) minimum spend per table. The Dosan notice says the store becomes a cocktail bar called Bar Mixato in the evening, and Gwanghwamun’s opening menu badges two cocktails EXCLUSIVE, one of them made with soju.
A March 2026 notice goes further and names six Special Reserve stores that get a drink sold nowhere else, the Black Glazed Sherbet Plate. One of the six, The Jeju Songdang Park R, also has a Reserve latte of its own themed on a Jeju forest. Reserve food leans on collaborations: Dosan’s cakes include a hojicha tiramisu made to a Josun Deli recipe, and the Gwanghwamun notice lists items from BO&MIE Paris and from Maybell Bakery (오월의 종).
The catch is prices. Korea’s online menu has no Reserve category; we found 28 Reserve drink pages scattered through the ordinary categories, marked only by wording such as a Reserve-only tag in the description, and none carries a price. The won figures below were read from the notice images, so each is as old as its notice. A reservation-only Reserve Afternoon Coffee Set for two runs at Reserve Dosan and Jangchung Lounge R, with a printed period of September 1, 2026 to January 26, 2028 and no printed price. Taiwan: a flagship with a Taiwanese tea bar and kaoliang cocktails
Taiwan’s site gives one store a microsite of its own: Starbucks Reserve Dream Plaza Taipei, on the 6th floor at No. 11, Songgao Rd. in Xinyi. The site bills it as the first Starbucks flagship in Taiwan and never calls it a Roastery. It has four themed bars (Starbucks Reserve Bar, Mixology Bar, Teavana Bar and Central Bar), a bakery, and a reservation-only dining room called Siren’s Lounge.
The site documents it in detail. The product catalogue has a Dream Plaza section of 95 drink pages and 65 food and retail pages, every one with an NT$ price, and most drinks with calories and caffeine too. The Mixology Bar, which the site calls Taiwan’s first Starbucks cocktail bar, prices its signature cocktails at NT$400-460 (~$13-$14) and builds several on local ingredients: Kinmen kaoliang in No. 11, Songgao Rd. (NT$450, ~$14, named after the address) and Lemonade Kaoliang (NT$400, ~$13), and Taiwanese teas in the Roasted Oolong Tea Fashioned, Tranquila Forest and Mountain Whispers. The Teavana Bar pours five Taiwanese teas by the pot and sells three tins, one of them badged flagship only. The Starbucks Reserve Bar is where the site says the Oviso espresso system makes its Taiwan debut. Siren’s Lounge serves a set menu that the site says chef André Chiang supervises, booked online with an NT$350 (~$11) deposit per person; its director’s profile describes the room as unique in the world and exclusive to Taiwan. The pages we read don’t print the regular set-menu price.
Beyond the flagship, the site lists 19 stores under its Reserve coffee experience heading and four modern Reserve bar stores, and seven Reserve whole beans at NT$680-980 (~$21-$31) per 250 g. Indonesia: a coffee farm inside a store in Bali
Indonesia’s one Reserve location with a page of its own is the Dewata Coffee Sanctuary, Starbucks Reserve Dewata, on Sunset Road in Seminyak, Bali. The page describes a 1,000 sq ft working plot of Arabica trees at the entrance and what it calls the first coffee seedling nursery inside a Starbucks store. The company’s history page says a Coffee Experience Center opened in the complex on January 22, 2022, roasting whole beans from Aceh first and Bali Batur Volcano beans from 2023.
Dewata has a Special Menu of its own on the page, with no prices: 18 pastries and sweets, 10 savouries and four drinks, two of them local (a Dewata Latte with Balinese palm sugar and a Butterfly Apple Tea with telang flower syrup). The only rupiah figures are for coffee classes, printed as IDR 100K for a 30-minute Dewata Coffee Tour up to IDR 500K for a Latte Art Experience.
The rest is thin. The main menu has a Reserve food section of 27 items and the Reserve coffee page lists three whole beans, all without prices or calories, and there’s no Reserve drinks list. The Reserve stores page names 12 stores in five cities, while the company page says Reserve is in nine cities and that the 20th Reserve store was celebrated in 2023, so the store list looks like the older of the two. Hong Kong and Macau: a locator flag and a second set of drink pages
Hong Kong’s site has no Reserve landing page (the obvious address returns a 404) and no Reserve menu. Reserve shows up in two places. The store locator has a Starbucks Reserve filter, and the data behind it flagged eight stores on September 21, 2026: five in Hong Kong, among them Lee Gardens One and Landmark 3F, and three in Macau (MGM Cotai, Londoner and Venetian), where the Chinese store names use 星巴克臻選店. And the Mobile Order catalogue carries a second version of certain seasonal drinks with Starbucks Reserve in front of the name. Nine such drinks were live, from a Black Sesame Latte with Tofu Pudding to an Espresso Tonic, but only the autumn macadamia one was in the homepage carousel, and most of the others use image files tagged for summer. The pages don’t say what makes the Reserve build different, and there are no prices.
An undated Store Design page describes a Hong Kong flagship with the city’s first Teavana Bar and Mixology Bar. None of the three stores it describes with a Reserve bar (Lee Garden III, Alexandra House and Cityplaza) was in the official store list on the day we checked, so treat that page as history. Philippines: a full Reserve drinks section and one store’s pastry case
The Philippine site treats Reserve as a top-level section of its menu: 29 drinks in five groups. Four of them are brew methods (Coffee Press, Pour Over, Siphon and Chemex). The ice cream group has affogatos, floats and malts, and two of its drinks are marked as available only in Reserve stores with ice cream. The store locator flagged 28 of 538 stores as Reserve on September 21, 2026.
One store gets food of its own. Ten Bake-in pastries are marked as exclusively available in Starbucks Reserve Hiraya, which the locator lists in Tagaytay City with its hours shown as 24 HOURS. The site shows calories for most Reserve drinks, based on a Tall recipe, and no prices. Nothing on it mentions cocktails or Princi. Our Starbucks Philippines page covers more of the Reserve list.

FAQ
How many Starbucks Reserve Roasteries are there?
Five, according to the FAQ on Starbucks’ own Reserve site on September 21, 2026: Chicago, New York City, Milan, Shanghai and Tokyo. Seattle isn’t on that list and has no page on the site, though older stories there still describe it as the first Roastery. Starbucks Japan’s site says five on one page and six on another.
What’s the difference between a Reserve Roastery and a Reserve Bar?
Size and what happens inside. The brand site’s FAQ describes Roasteries as large flagship destinations with coffee roasting and mixology bars, and Reserve Bars as smaller places offering Reserve coffees and elevated brewing methods. Country sites add formats of their own, such as Japan’s Reserve Cafe, Korea’s Reserve-only stores and China’s Bar Mixato.
Does Starbucks Reserve serve alcohol?
At some locations, yes. The US Roasteries, Milan and Tokyo each publish a cocktail menu for an Arriviamo bar, and Taipei’s Dream Plaza flagship has a Mixology Bar. In Korea, the opening notices for Reserve Dosan and Reserve Gwanghwamun list cocktails and say ID is checked. Starbucks China’s releases describe Bar Mixato stores and a Bar Mixato inside the Shanghai Roastery. The Philippine, Indonesian and Hong Kong sites list no Reserve cocktails.
How much is an espresso martini at a Starbucks Reserve Roastery?
On the menus published on September 21, 2026, the Starbucks Reserve Espresso Martini is $16 in Chicago, $20 in New York, €14.00 (~$16) in Milan and ¥2,400 (~$15) in Tokyo. Taipei’s flagship lists one at NT$400 (~$13). A flight of three is $25, $30, €22.00 (~$25), ¥3,600 (~$23) and NT$720 (~$23) in the same order.
Which Starbucks Reserve locations publish their prices online?
The Chicago and New York Roasteries and the Empire State Building store, Milan, Roastery Tokyo and Japan’s other Reserve formats, and Taipei’s Dream Plaza flagship. Korea prints Reserve prices only inside dated notice images. We found no Reserve menu prices on the official sites for China, Hong Kong, Indonesia or the Philippines.
Is there a Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Korea or Taiwan?
Not according to their official sites. Starbucks Korea presents Reserve stores and two Reserve-only stores in Seoul, Dosan and Gwanghwamun, and no Roastery. Starbucks Taiwan calls Starbucks Reserve Dream Plaza Taipei its first flagship and never uses the word Roastery for it.
What is Oleato, and which Reserve menus have it?
Oleato is Starbucks Reserve coffee with Partanna extra virgin olive oil. It’s on all four menus at the Milan Roastery, from a €6.50 (~$7.46) latte to an €18.00 (~$21) espresso martini, and it isn’t in the US Roasteries’ fall 2026 menu data. A Starbucks China release says Oleato launched there in Reserve stores on March 22, 2024, with a lemon latte made for the China market.
Can you buy Starbucks Reserve beans at a regular Starbucks?
It depends on the country. The brand site’s FAQ says Reserve whole beans and merchandise are only sold at Reserve locations. In Japan the menu data shows nine Reserve beans sold online and in regular stores that handle Reserve, from ¥2,690 (~$17) per 250 g, while three more are sold only at Roastery Tokyo. China’s Reserve page says the beans are sold in limited quantity at designated stores.
