McDonald’s Australia (Macca’s, to almost everyone who eats there) keeps the global staples and builds its own breakfast and desserts around them. Right now that means the Birdie’s Brekkie Meal, with pink Birdie sauce on the McMuffins, and a Tim Tam & Jatz Inspired McFlurry made after two Australian biscuits. The permanent quirks run deeper: a Big Brekkie Burger, the McSpicy on the regular board, a Cadbury Flake in your soft serve and banana bread in the McCafé case. Prices aren’t on the website; they vary by restaurant, and the app shows yours.
Australians call McDonald’s Macca’s, and the company uses the name itself. The app is MyMacca’s, and the breakfast board is full of “Brekkie” items, from the Big Brekkie Burger to this season’s Birdie promotion. For an American, lunch will look familiar and the edges won’t: two Australian biscuit brands in a McFlurry and a hash brown inside a burger.

Checked September 11, 2026. Australian prices vary by restaurant and aren’t published on the website, so the MyMacca’s app is where you’ll find yours. The menu also has a Loose Change Menu (the value section) and a Bundle Meals section; the app shows what each holds at your restaurant.
New right now
The Birdie’s Brekkie Meal launched on August 26, 2026, and it’s the first McDonald’s meal fronted by Birdie, the McDonaldland character who has always belonged to breakfast. The promotion puts a pink Birdie sauce on two McMuffins and the Brekkie McWrap, with a Strawberry Shortcake Frappe to drink. It’s Australia’s entry on our worldwide exclusives table and in September’s roundup of new items.
Lunch has its own launches, led by a Cheesy Quarter Pounder and a Cheesy McCrispy. The dessert news is the McFlurry flavored after the chocolate Tim Tam and the salty Jatz cracker, both made by Arnott’s.

Breakfast
Brekkie is where Australia drifts furthest from the US board. Beyond the Birdie items, there’s a Deluxe range (a Bacon & Egg McMuffin, a Mighty McMuffin and a Brekkie McWrap, all in Deluxe builds) and the Big Brekkie Burger, which puts most of a breakfast plate inside one bun.

Beef
The beef list holds few surprises, apart from how many ways it runs the Quarter Pounder: standard, Deluxe, BBQ Bacon and the new Cheesy. Like Canada, Australia lists a Double Big Mac on the regular board.

Chicken
The McSpicy, a spicy fillet burger best known from Singapore and Hong Kong, is a permanent item in Australia, and the Chicken ‘n’ Cheese covers the budget end. Canada’s World Menu Heist is currently importing an Australian Chicken Parmi Burger; the Canada page has it.

Sides and snacks
Chicken McWings and a snack-size wrap sit next to the fries here. Add the hash brown and the new mozzarella sticks, and Australia’s sides list runs well past the two items on the US sides page.

Desserts
Australian desserts lean on one chocolate bar and some old branding: a Cadbury Flake in the cone, McDonaldland Cookies, McPops, and a pie still sold as the Hot Apple Pie. The Tim Tam & Jatz McFlurry from the new list is the seasonal headliner.

McCafé and drinks
McCafé opened its first store in Melbourne in 1993, and the Australian food case still reads like a local coffee shop: banana bread and raisin toast with butter, an apple crumble muffin and a ham and cheese pocket. The 2026 drinks track the US lineup closely. The Strawberry Watermelon Refresher and the Red Bull Dragonberry Energiser match American launches, and the Australian board adds Berry Blast & Sprite, an iced matcha latte with cold foam, an Iced Vanilla Matcha and a brown sugar shaken espresso with oat milk.

FAQ
What is the Birdie’s Brekkie Meal?
It’s McDonald’s Australia’s new breakfast promotion, launched on August 26, 2026, and the first McDonald’s meal fronted by Birdie, the McDonaldland breakfast character. The lineup puts a pink Birdie sauce on a Bacon & Egg McMuffin, a Chicken & Bacon McMuffin and the Brekkie McWrap, with a Strawberry Shortcake Frappe alongside.
What’s in the Tim Tam & Jatz McFlurry?
It’s a McFlurry flavored after two Arnott’s biscuits, the chocolate-coated Tim Tam and the salty Jatz cracker, so it plays sweet against salty. The website calls it “inspired” and doesn’t list the mix-ins, so check the app before you order if the details matter to you.
Why do Australians call McDonald’s Macca’s?
It’s ordinary Australian slang, the same habit of clipping words that turns breakfast into brekkie and the afternoon into arvo. McDonald’s Australia uses the nickname itself, most visibly in the MyMacca’s app.
Does McDonald’s Australia publish prices?
No, prices vary by restaurant and the website doesn’t list them; the MyMacca’s app shows your local prices. For cheap orders, the website’s Loose Change Menu section lists the value items.
