McDonald’s Switzerland calls its Quarter Pounder the Cheeseburger Royal, as France does, and sells a big burger of its own called The M, now with a bacon version. Chicken Paprika and a vegetarian Veggie Paprika are on the permanent board. Several burgers and even Happy Meals come on a gluten-free bun, with carrot sticks and Valser mineral water as Happy Meal options. Swiss brands turn up on the drinks and dessert lists (Ramseier juice, a Cailler chocolate sundae), and McCafé uses Swiss coffee words like Café Crème and Schale. Switzerland publishes one menu in German, French and Italian. Limited time right now
The current limited list runs on bacon and heat. The Royal Crispy Onions & Bacon comes as a single or a double, and the McCrispy Creamy Chipotle comes plain, with bacon, or as a meat-free Creamy Chipotle Veggie. Spicy Chicken McNuggets arrive with a Spicy Sauce Trio of dips, and the McFlavor Fries come in Double Cheddar or Cheddar & Bacon.

Burgers
The Royal family is the Swiss take on the Quarter Pounder with Cheese: the Cheeseburger Royal, a Cheeseburger Royal Bacon and a Double Cheeseburger Royal. France uses the same Royal naming for its Royal Cheese. The M sits above them with two patties, fried onions and a creamy sauce, and the menu calls it its new classic. The Big Tasty comes in four builds (Single, Single Bacon, Double and Double Bacon), and the Double Cheeseburger Bacon, the plain Cheeseburger and the Filet-O-Fish fill out the list.
Four burgers can be ordered on a gluten-free bun: the Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Double Cheeseburger and Double Cheeseburger Bacon. Gluten-free Happy Meals are listed too.

Chicken and veggie
The Paprika pair is the part of this board you won’t find in the US. Chicken Paprika puts a breaded chicken fillet under paprika sauce and cheese, and Veggie Paprika does the same with a vegetarian Valess schnitzel. The McCrispy line adds Honey Mustard (with a Honey Mustard Veggie beside it), and the new Chickenburger is small enough for the Happy Meal. Fries, sides and drinks
The Happy Meal is where the Swiss board gets practical. Carrot sticks can replace the fries, and Valser mineral water is one of the drinks. The fries themselves are made from Swiss potatoes by Frigemo in Cressier, and the dip list puts a fries sauce and a curry sauce next to ketchup. Two Swiss brands sit on the drinks list, Valser and Ramseier, along with an Apfelschorle and the McFizz sodas.

Desserts
Two of the desserts are limited: a McFlurry with Daim and a sundae under melted Cailler dark chocolate. Cookie Dough is the new McFlurry, in chocolate or caramel. The bakery side has three donuts, McPops, a blueberry muffin and the apple pie.

Breakfast and McCafé
Breakfast is continental. The croissant and pain au chocolat come with butter, Nutella or strawberry jam (Konfitüre Erdbeere), next to Egg & Cheese and Bacon & Egg McMuffins. The McCafé list uses Swiss coffee vocabulary. A Café Crème is the standard full cup and a Ristretto the short shot; order a Schale and you get coffee with plenty of milk, the drink French speakers call a renversé. Latte Macchiato and a Frappé Cappuccino Caramel are on the list too.
