McDonald’s Finland puts burgers on a rye bun. Ruis is Finnish for rye, and the Ruis Feast is the one the Finnish site calls the juhlahampurilainen, the celebration burger, with a Ruis McVeggie beside it and a Ruis Fresh at breakfast. The rest of the local board runs to El Maco in beef, chicken and veggie plus two McWraps, a spice mix that comes with the meal so you season your own fries, a Fresh McMuffin built on a pork patty, Chili Cheese Tops, and oat milk versions of five McCafé drinks listed as separate products.
Finland and Sweden share El Maco and the McFeast, and then the two Nordic boards go their own ways. The rye line is the part no other country on this site sells: ruis is the grain Finns build their bread on, and McDonald’s Finland has put it under a burger, under a veggie burger and on the breakfast menu. None of the rye items, the El Maco family or the Chili Cheese Tops appear on the US menu, and the around-the-world guide has how they compare with other countries’ exclusives.

Ruis: the rye line
Rye is the Finnish bread grain, and this is the only McDonald’s market on the site that has taken it as far as a bun. Three products use it, across burgers, the vegetarian board and breakfast.

El Maco and the family around it
El Maco is the Nordic Tex-Mex burger, salsa and sour cream on a sesame bun, and Sweden sells its own. What Finland has done is extend it. Two McWraps carry the same sauces, and buying an El Maco meal gets you a seasoning sachet and a shaker bag for the fries, which in Sweden is a separate product you have to order.

Two jalapeno lines, at two prices
Finland runs its heat at two price points. Mighty Jalapeno is the bigger build, with tomato and red onion on top of the jalapeno sauce. Flaming is the value range, stripped back to cheddar, lettuce and the same sauce. Each line has beef, chicken and veggie versions, and each has a double: the Double Mighty Jalapeno and the Flaming McDouble.

The rest of the burger board
The McFeast is here as it is in Sweden, and its sauce runs through the Finnish menu: the McChicken, the Snack Wrap, the Chicken Burger and the Vegan Burger all use it. The gluten-free bun is listed as its own product, with a restriction worth reading before you order.

Vegetarian and vegan
Nine items on the Finnish menu are vegetarian or vegan, counting the Ruis McVeggie, the Veggie El Maco, the Flaming Veggie and the Mighty Jalapeno Veggie already listed above. McDonald’s Finland also states on the fries page that the fries are fully vegan.

Chili Cheese Tops and the sides
Chili Cheese Tops are the Nordic breaded chilli-cheese bite, sold four to a box or nine at a time inside the Big Share. Baby carrots and apple slices are the other sides, beside seven dips: barbecue, cheddar, chili mayo, curry, sweet and sour, McFeast and garlic.

Desserts
Kinuski is the Finnish caramel toffee, and it turns up as a sundae sauce and inside the Twix McFlurry. Mystery Blue is the current novelty on the shake list; the Finnish site doesn’t describe it as limited, so we won’t either.

McCafé, oat milk and the Finnish brands
Kaura means oat, and the Finnish McCafé board lists five oat drinks as products of their own: cappuccino, flat white, cortado, latte and chai latte. Ordering one means picking a different menu item rather than asking for a substitution. The named brands on the rest of the drinks list are Finnish or Nordic, with Valio on the milk, God Morgon on the juices and Pukka on the teas.
