The short answer

KFC Japan’s autumn lead is Garlic Soy Sauce Chicken (にんにく醤油チキン) at ¥340 (~$2.15) a piece, sold beside Original Recipe in compare-and-eat sets from ¥990 (~$6.27), with a ¥30 Super Garlic Soy Mayo to pour over it. Next to it sit five moon-viewing Tsukimi items (a fillet burger with a fried-egg-style omelette at ¥590 (~$3.74), a katsu version under a pile of tartar at ¥640 (~$4.06), a triple-omelette one at ¥990 (~$6.27), a twister at ¥490 (~$3.10) and a mochi custard pie at ¥320 (~$2.03)), Crazy Dip Chicken at ¥390 (~$2.47) for four pieces with a sauce, and two CHURULY jelly sodas at ¥440 (~$2.79). Under that seasonal layer: Original Recipe at ¥330 (~$2.09) a piece, Super Saver Packs from ¥1,590 (~$10) for four pieces and two sides, the Chicken Fillet Burger at ¥440 (~$2.79), and lunch combos from ¥550 (~$3.48) between 10:00 and 15:00. Every price here is the tax-inclusive figure on kfc.co.jp’s web menu on October 4, 2026, and the calorie counts are from the chain’s own nutrition table.

KFC Japan's Garlic Soy Sauce Chicken, a single piece of fried chicken flecked with sesame and seasoning on a KFC napkin Garlic Soy Sauce Chicken (にんにく醤油チキン), ¥340 (~$2.15) a piece and marked limited quantity. In KFC Japan’s web menu catalog on October 4, 2026 it is listed second in the recommended row, right after a half-price Crispy Strip deal. Image: KFC Japan

KFC in Japan is a chicken shop first and a burger shop second, and the menu is built that way. The web menu’s own categories run: recommended, chicken, lunch, combos, burgers, sides, drinks, kids. Original Recipe is sold by the single piece at ¥330 (~$2.09), and nearly everything else is a way of buying several pieces with sides. The burger line is seven items long and has been built around one sandwich, the Chicken Fillet Burger, whose listing opens with the word 元祖 (ganso, the original). On top of that sits a seasonal rotation that the site marks 数量限定, limited quantity, which this autumn means garlic and soy sauce, fried eggs for the harvest moon, a dip chicken with three sauces and a jelly soda in a cup with a face. The famous part of the year, the Christmas barrel, runs on a separate reservation system and has its own page on this site.

The site is Japanese only, and it is an ordering site: kfc.co.jp/menu loads a takeout menu for a default store before you choose your own. English names below follow KFC Japan’s own English menu flyer (the edition valid September 30 to October 13, 2026) and its bilingual nutrition table, with the Japanese exactly as the web menu prints it. For the other big boards in the same market, see McDonald’s Japan, Starbucks Japan and Burger King Japan. Checked against KFC Japan’s own web menu; images © KFC Japan.

Checked October 4, 2026. Prices are the ones in the web menu’s takeout catalog that day, in yen, tax included. The English flyer states it plainly: all prices listed include consumption tax, and menus and prices may vary in some stores. The delivery menu is a separate catalog on the same site and is not used here. Lunch prices apply 10:00-15:00 where the listing says so. The product listings print no launch or end dates, with one exception noted below (a half-price deal through October 13), so this page gives none. Calories come from the nutrition table (栄養成分表) KFC Japan publishes as a PDF in Japanese and English, data as of September 11, 2026; the web menu’s product listings themselves show no calorie figures. The catalog also holds a hidden coupon category with 81 app-coupon prices, which need the KFC app and are not covered here.

Garlic Soy Sauce Chicken and the compare-and-eat sets

The listing is short: garlic and soy sauce, a pairing the copy calls irresistible, in the chicken for the season of autumn appetite, back again this year. It is a bone-in piece seasoned on the outside, sold at ¥340 (~$2.15) against ¥330 (~$2.09) for Original Recipe. KFC Japan’s English flyer dated September 16, 2026 already lists it, and the current edition carries it under the line “Autumn appetite”. On the nutrition table a piece averages 102 g and 275 kcal, where an Original Recipe piece is 87 g and 218 kcal.

KFC Japan sells it in a structure it calls 食べくらべ (tabekurabe, eat-and-compare), which the flyer renders as Compare-n’-Eat: one garlic piece and one Original Recipe piece in a combo with an M drink and a side at ¥990 (~$6.27), two and two in a pack with one side at ¥1,590 (~$10), three and three with two sides at ¥2,490 (~$16). The Super Extra-Garlic Set (超追いにんにく セット) is the ¥990 (~$6.27) combo with a packet of Super Garlic Soy Mayo added, at ¥1,020 (~$6.46), and the mayo is also sold alone for ¥30. Its listing says the sauce is back this year with more garlic than before, and that the idea is to pour it over the garlic chicken. Every one of these carries the limited-quantity mark.

Tsukimi: moon-viewing burgers, a twister and a mochi pie

Tsukimi (月見) is moon viewing, and on Japanese fast-food menus it means a fried egg standing in for the harvest moon. KFC Japan’s version is a 目玉焼き風オムレツ, a fried-egg-style omelette, and the とろ~り (tororii) in every product name describes the yolk running out of it. Five items carry the name on the October 4 menu, all marked limited quantity, and our September roundup logged them going on sale in late August. McDonald’s Japan runs its own Tsukimi lineup at the same time of year.

Two of the five are returns the site calls autumn regulars: the Tsukimi Fillet Burger (chicken fillet, lettuce, special mayo and the omelette in a whole-wheat bun, ¥590 (~$3.74)) and the Tsukimi Twister (crispy chicken, lettuce, teriyaki sauce, mayo and the omelette in a tortilla, ¥490 (~$3.10)). Two are tagged 新登場, new: the Tsukimi Wa-fu Cutlet Burger with Overflowing Tartar Sauce, a chicken katsu under what the listing calls tartar pushed to its limit, at ¥640 (~$4.06), and a Triple version with three omelettes stacked on the same katsu at ¥990 (~$6.27), the dearest sandwich on the board. The fifth is the Omochi & Rich Custard Tsukimi Pie, mochi and custard in a baked pie at ¥320 (~$2.03), which the site says is back again this year.

Each of the four sandwiches has a combo (fries and a drink) and an Abundant Combo (the combo plus a piece of Original Recipe): ¥1,000 (~$6.34) and ¥1,300 (~$8.24) for the fillet burger, ¥1,050 (~$6.65) and ¥1,350 (~$8.55) for the katsu, ¥1,400 (~$8.87) and ¥1,700 (~$11) for the triple, ¥900 (~$5.70) and ¥1,200 (~$7.60) for the twister. The nutrition table has all five: 441 kcal for the fillet burger, 506 for the katsu, 585 for the triple, 398 for the twister and 187 for the pie.

Crazy Dip Chicken, the three sauces and the CHURULY jelly sodas

Crazy Dip Chicken (クレイジーディップチキン) is the snack the site introduces as new: chunky, crunchy pieces of boneless chicken, four to an order, made to be dunked. ¥390 (~$2.47) buys the four pieces with one sauce, ¥590 (~$3.74) adds fries, and the Sauce Indulgent Pack at ¥1,100 (~$6.97) puts four Crazy Dip pieces, five regular nuggets, fries and all three sauces in one box, which the listing pitches as a chance to compare the two chickens. The sauces are ¥50 (~$0.32) each on their own: KFC Special Sauce (a house blend with mild richness and moderate acidity, in the site’s words), BBQ Sauce (smoky, with the sweetness held back) and Mustard Sauce (two mustards, coarse-ground). The nutrition table gives 243 kcal for the four pieces before any sauce, then 85, 30 and 70 kcal for the three sauces in that order.

The drink of the season is ちゅる~りぃ, spelled CHURULY on the nutrition table: lemon jelly with a slurpable texture (ちゅるん) under carbonated soda, in a clear cup printed with a pair of eyes and a puckered mouth. Two flavours are sold a la carte at ¥440 (~$2.79), Okinawa Pineapple Blue and Ehime Iyokan, the citrus from Ehime Prefecture. The combo drink lists name three more, Blue Hawaii, Pink Cranberry and Green Lime, which had no a la carte listing on October 4. Both priced flavours are around 200 kcal for a 342 g serving.

Original Recipe by the piece, Boneless and the Super Saver Packs

The chicken category is six listings long. A piece of Original Recipe (オリジナルチキン) is ¥330 (~$2.09), and its listing says the recipe has been handed down unchanged since Colonel Sanders perfected it in 1939, that the chicken is young bird, and that each store makes it by hand. The nutrition table’s average piece is 87 g and 218 kcal. Boneless Chicken (骨なしケンタッキー) is breast meat cooked with the same eleven herbs and spices, also ¥330 (~$2.09), 191 kcal for 83 g; most packs and combos print a line saying it cannot be swapped in for Original Recipe. A plain 10-piece barrel is ¥3,300 (~$21) with nothing else in it.

The pack format is the トクトクパック, Super Saver Pack in the flyer’s English: Original Recipe plus sides of your choice, four pieces and two sides for ¥1,590 (~$10), six and three for ¥2,390 (~$15), eight and four for ¥2,990 (~$19). The site calls it the テッパン, the sure thing. The side list is ten long: fries S or L, a Crispy Strip, a biscuit, the Tsukimi pie, a choco pie, coleslaw S or M, or the Colonel Crunch Potato in two sizes. The flyer prints the chain’s own discount figures for the three packs, ¥310 (~$1.96), ¥460 (~$2.91) and ¥810 (~$5.13), defined in its footnote as the difference from the sum of the regular a la carte prices, and it prices the upgrades: ¥200 (~$1.27) to make the fries large, ¥100 (~$0.63) to make the coleslaw medium, ¥30 to take the Tsukimi pie as a side. Its buy-together list, marked for customers buying a pack or barrel, sells pairs of sides at ¥390 (~$2.47) each (two S fries, two biscuits, two choco pies, two S coleslaws) and two Tsukimi pies at ¥450 (~$2.85); the web menu’s add-on category carried the same pairs on October 4.

The deal on the board in early October is the Crispy Strip (カーネルクリスピー, Colonel Crispy), the boneless strip with a garlic and soy base seasoning. The web listing sells one piece at ¥140 (~$0.89) and says the half price runs for a limited time through Tuesday October 13; the flyer prints the same offer as 50% off a regular ¥290 (~$1.84). On October 4 the regular-priced strip was not in the takeout catalog as a stand-alone side, though it is still on the pack side lists. 119 kcal a strip.

The seven standing burgers and twisters

The burger category has five burgers and two twisters, and the English flyer badges them Original, Spicy, Cheese, Double and Japanese. The Chicken Fillet Burger (チキンフィレバーガー) is a fillet cooked with the eleven herbs and spices, lettuce and a mayo sauce made with olive oil, ¥440 (~$2.79) and 398 kcal. The Spicy version swaps in a hot mayo for ¥470 (~$2.98) (384 kcal, a little under the original on the chain’s table), the Cheese version adds a slice of cheddar for ¥470 (~$2.98) (468 kcal), and the Double puts two fillets in for ¥680 (~$4.31) (615 kcal, the heaviest sandwich on the nutrition table).

The Japanese one is the Wa-fu Chicken Cutlet Burger (和風チキンカツ バーガー): a chicken katsu with a soy-flavoured teriyaki sauce, the special mayo and shredded cabbage in a whole-wheat bun, ¥440 (~$2.79) and 426 kcal. The twisters are tortilla wraps around a Crispy Strip. Pepper Mayo adds a tomato-based picante salsa and pepper mayo (¥380, ~$2.41, 302 kcal, the lightest item in the category) and Teriyaki uses KFC’s own teriyaki sauce with the special mayo (¥380, ~$2.41, 360 kcal), with a note on the listing that children and people sensitive to heat may find it spicy.

Combos, Abundant Combos and the 10:00-15:00 lunch prices

Three words carry the combo menu. セット (set, Combo on the flyer) is the sandwich with fries and a drink: the web menu lets you take the fries in S or L or as the Colonel Crunch Potato, and the drink in M or L from the fountain list. Combos are ¥850 (~$5.39) for the Chicken Fillet Burger and the Wa-fu Cutlet, ¥880 (~$5.58) for Spicy and Cheese, ¥1,090 (~$6.91) for the Double and ¥790 (~$5.01) for either twister, and an Original Recipe 2-piece combo is ¥1,030 (~$6.53). The catalog shows no upcharge figures for the larger sizes; the flyer says the M to L drink upgrade in a combo is ¥50 (~$0.32).

よくばりセット (yokubari set, the greedy set) is the Abundant Combo: the same combo with one piece of Original Recipe added, and no, Boneless cannot be that piece. The flyer sums it up as the combo for ¥300 (~$1.90) more. On the web menu that comes to ¥1,150 (~$7.29) for the fillet and wa-fu, ¥1,180 (~$7.48) for spicy and cheese, ¥1,390 (~$8.81) for the double, ¥1,090 (~$6.91) for the twisters, and ¥1,330 (~$8.43) for an Original Recipe 3-piece Abundant Combo.

ランチ (lunch) is its own category, and most of its listings print 時間限定, time-limited to 10:00-15:00, at a lunch price. The cheapest thing in it is the コンビ (combi): a Chicken Fillet Burger or Wa-fu Chicken Cutlet Burger with fries and no drink for ¥550 (~$3.48). The full lunch combos, same contents as the regular ones, are ¥690 (~$4.37) for the fillet and wa-fu, ¥720 (~$4.56) for spicy and cheese, ¥930 (~$5.89) for the double and ¥650 (~$4.12) for a twister; the lunch fillet combo’s photo wears a ¥160 (~$1.01) おトク badge, which its footnote defines as the difference from the regular price. Lunch Abundant Combos run ¥950-1,230 (~$6.02-$7.79). Two Original Recipe combos sit in the lunch category at ¥890 (~$5.64) (2 pieces) and ¥1,190 (~$7.54) (3 pieces, Abundant) without the 10:00-15:00 line, as does a Chicken & Biscuit Combo at ¥550 (~$3.48): one piece, a biscuit, fries and a drink that starts at size S.

The biscuit is the side the chain calls its own original: crisp outside, moist inside, eaten with the special honey maple syrup, ¥290 (~$1.84) and 211 kcal before the syrup; the flyer prices the Honey Maple at ¥30 each and the table lists it at 30 kcal. The Choco Pie, a black-cocoa pastry around chocolate cream, baked in store, was a popular item that the listing says has now become a regular, ¥290 (~$1.84) and 270 kcal. Coleslaw is ¥290 (~$1.84) for S (79 kcal) and ¥390 (~$2.47) for M. Christmas is a separate system

None of the Christmas barrels are on the October web menu, and the 10-piece barrel above is not one of them. The Christmas lineup has been announced in late October in recent years and sold on reservations for pickup in the week before December 25. Our KFC Japan Christmas page has the 2025 prices, the reservation steps and the expected 2026 timeline, and updates when the announcement lands.

The web menu’s lunch category sells burger and twister combos at lower prices between 10:00 and 15:00: ¥690 (~$4.37) for the Chicken Fillet Burger combo against ¥850 (~$5.39) the rest of the day, ¥650 (~$4.12) for a twister combo, and a Combi of a burger and fries with no drink for ¥550 (~$3.48). The lunch fillet combo’s photo carries a ¥160 (~$1.01) おトク badge, KFC’s own figure for the difference from the regular price.

Does KFC Japan publish calories?

Yes, in a nutrition table (栄養成分表) published as a PDF in Japanese and English, with data as of September 11, 2026. The web menu’s product listings do not show calories. From the table: a piece of Original Recipe is 218 kcal, Garlic Soy Sauce Chicken 275, the Chicken Fillet Burger 398, the Double 615, the Tsukimi Fillet Burger 441, S fries 195, a biscuit 211 before its 30 kcal honey maple, and a CHURULY about 200. The table notes its figures are standard values based on formulations and that hand-made products vary.

What do セット, よくばりセット and コンビ mean on the KFC Japan menu?

セット (setto) is a combo: the sandwich with fries and a drink. よくばりセット (yokubari setto, the greedy set) is the Abundant Combo, the same thing with a piece of Original Recipe added. コンビ (kombi) is the lunch-only pairing of a burger and fries with no drink. Other markings worth knowing: 数量限定 is limited quantity, 期間限定 is limited time, 時間限定 is limited hours, 新登場 is new, and 元祖 on the Chicken Fillet Burger means the original.

Can I buy the KFC Christmas barrel from the regular menu?

No. The Christmas barrels are reservation products with their own announcement, booking window and pickup dates, and they are not in the regular web menu in October. The 10-piece Original Recipe barrel at ¥3,300 (~$21) is a year-round product. For how the Christmas reservations work and what the 2025 barrel cost, see our KFC Japan Christmas page.
